Behind The Scenes – A Wedding

KELSEY + AUSTIN

Kelsey & Austin were such a fun couple to work with. Kelsey seemed to really enjoy every moment of the wedding planning and Austin was such a great encourager and helper through the process.

“What a beautiful view!” was my first thought after visiting Shoal Creek Golf. It really is a serene place and I was just imaging all the amazing pictures of the wedding.

We came up with a plan A and a Plan B rain plan with Sarah, the event coordinator at Shoal Creek. Plan A was to have the ceremony out at the green space, to the side of the patio with the band and reception to take place beside it. Plan B was to have the food setup in the main room with the band and cocktail tables in the indoor patio. The weather was just not going to cooperate. Sarah and I made the decision the day before to plan for Plan B. Kelsey & Austin, although a little disappointed, agreed.

The girls arrived early for hair and makeup. The guys hung out and played a little short course golf. The vendors started arriving. I arrived early to walk through the rain setup with Sarah. Her team was already on top of the new plan. The chapel was maxed out in space. I arranged the floral to fit into the new space and setup the foyer.

I love my job! Just look at Kelsey’s face as I drove her to see her {almost} groom. That smile!

How adorable was the first look with Kelsey & Austin. I loved this picture that Simple Color Photography captured. They were both so excited to be getting married and you can see the excitement glowing on their faces.

The ceremony was short but beautiful with the amazing floral arrangement on the cross along with the sweet petals that adorned the aisle. The candles lining the walkway were more so beautiful due to the approaching downpour. I eagerly watched the guests slowly move through the foyer, which seemed like slow motion as we anticipated the change in weather.

It was a fun adventure weaving the bride and groom through backdoors to provide the grand entrance onto the dance floor. Those service stairs made us all laugh!

The guests had fun eating, talking and dancing. The adorable little dance partners made the night.

After first dances, cake cutting, toasts and dancing, the wedding was concluded with perfect weather and a beautiful sparkler exit.
