Luau Themed Kids Party

With a last minute call about an approaching seven year old birthday party, I was happy to jump in to help out a working mom who had run out of time to plan her daughter’s party. The venue was booked and the invitation were sent. My job was to step in and design a fun, memorable birthday.

We quickly landed on Luau as the theme of the party to go alongside the second part of the party, swimming. The venue offered one plain room with a few lunchroom type tables with a thirty minute decorating slot prior to the party, so this was going to be a challenge.

A wreath decorated with Hawaiian themes and the birthday girl’s name adorned the door alongside a welcome sandwich board with lei’s, to start the theme for the party.

The food and drink table would be the focal point of the room with the grass skirt around the table, a perfect Luau overlap, customized birthday pennant & food tents, pineapple cookies, and festive cupcakes.

The kids tables were decorated with large palm leaves chargers, individually customized pineapple cups with striped straws, palm tree centerpieces and leis. This finished the look of the Luau party.
