Last Minute New Years Eve Party Hosting Quick Tips:

1. ADD SOME DECORATIVE TOUCHES TO THE MAIN {GUEST} ROOM
Pick up some balloons {gold, white & black or black & white polka dot if you are feeling spunky}. Gather in three’s and tie to a weight on either side of the fireplace. Print off a free “HAPPY NEW YEAR” printable pendant or banner on Pinterest or create one with clipart and cardstock for the fireplace. Add some fabric on a string hanging from the fireplace or use a pre-bought tassel pendant. Light a candle on the coffee table. Add some large gold confetti pieces and a small tray with questions to spark conversation with your guests {from aliceandlois.com}.

2. LIVEN UP THE KITCHEN
Grab some black and white striped wrapping paper for an easy {and affordable} runner for the kitchen food table. Decorate the table with some party hats, gold appetizer plates and New Year’s Eve napkins. Set the appetizers & desserts on sleek white platters or pretty silver platters and add menu cards to add a little PIZZAZ. Set out the champagne glasses {real or plastic} on a tray so they are ready for the sparkling cider or champagne pouring for midnight.

3.  SETUP A SEPERATE DRINK STATION
Feel a drink container with iced tea or punch, have an ice bucket with glasses or cups setup with the guest’s names written on them. Add a carafe of hot cider, hot chocolate, coffee or all for those chilly nights. Guests can help themselves throughout the night as they are counting down for midnight.

 4. HAVE A COUNTDOWN
Have a balloon countdown as a backdrop for the kitchen table or a photo booth wall {9:00pm, 10:00pm, 11:00pm. 11:30pm. 11:45pm, 12:00} like this idea from TheSuburbanMom on Pinterest. This is super cute for pictures and it keeps everyone on track. Make sure you turn on the New Year’s Eve countdown on TV. Guests will enjoy seeing the different cities celebrating throughout the night in the different time zones.

 5. MAKE A LIST
Make a list of what needs to be done to make the appetizers and at what time.  Keep the extra food and ingredients organized so it is easy to replenish the food throughout the night.

 Happy New Year!
